Located in Central Luzon, New Clark City (NCC) is at a confluence of industry and agriculture with existing infrastructure and connectivity to Manila and rest of the Philippines. With favorable location in the region and appropriate distance from Metro Manila, NCC is poised to become the next big metropolis. It will be developed in four phases and is targeted for completion in 2065.
Merging with nature, the heart of New Clark City is proposed to be a central park with business district wrapped around it that has magnificent views of the hills. Served by public transport, housing and industries form the other layers. A network of open spaces forms the bond between diverse mixed use districts.
A destination where nature, lifestyle and business, education, and industry converge into a global city based on principles of sustainability. The MOU aims to set up a framework that will allow BCDA and EnterpriseSG to look for ways to work together on the development of New Clark City, especially in priority areas like affordable housing, estate management, transportation, solid waste management, waste-to-energy technology, smart cities, sustainability, green data centres, urban development, and programmes that focus on people. BCDA believes that a smart cityβs major purpose is to use smart technologies and data analysis to optimise city functions and boost economic growth while also increasing peopleβs quality of life.
The sustainability qualities of New Clark City were emphasised, which is 70 per cent conserved for green and eco-tourism initiatives and 30 per cent buildable. In addition, the new BCDA PCEO outlined plans for the creation of an inexpensive housing complex and the Philippinesβ largest public park within the metropolitan area, which will emphasise non-motorised and sustainable transport-oriented development (TOD).
