Switzerland is committed to Mali for a more meaningful participation of women in the peace process. Through UN-Women direct support for Malian civil society initiatives will be supplemented by the implementation of the National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Resolution 1325 concerning the participation of women. in peace processes and security guarantees. The program thus contributes to the stabilization of the sub-region.This program focuses on women peace and security in the context of crisis and post-crisis in Mali and aims to achieve mainly as result the strengthening of the participation of women as actors and beneficiaries of the process of peace security and recovery in Mali and the protection of their rights in accordance with standards on women peace and security in particular UN Resolution 1325. R1325 It aims to support the implementation of the National Action Plan NAP for the implementation of Resolution 1325 of the United Nations Security Council on women peace and security. Its results are aligned with the 4 pillars of Resolution 1325 namely Participation Prevention Protection Promotion and post-conflict recovery. The methodological approach will aim to strengthen the potential of women as actors of peace and reconciliation but also so that they benefit from the dividends of peace for their recovery and empowerment. The program will take advantage of the post-conflict context which offers opportunities to initiate changes aimed at improving womens rights in Mali. This contribution will complement Switzerlands direct support for Malian civil society organizations. It forms the basis for the participation of women in the phase of peace consolidation and the implementation of the peace agreement. It is therefore aligned with Malis National Action Plan R1325 but also with the Governments Action Program PAG for the period 2013-2018 with the United Nations and MINUSMA Assistance Framework UNDAF and with the UN Women Strategic Plan in Mali. The program is a contribution to the Sustainable Development Goal 5 Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls and a direct response to article 55 of the peace agreement providing for the participation of young people and women in its implementation.
