Objectives and Scope
The transaction technical assistance (TA) complements the senior secured debt financing in the form of nonconvertible debentures of up to
1,713 million from the ordinary capital resources of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to ReNew Power Synergy Private Limited (ReNew Synergy) for the ReNew Carbon Credits Financing Project in India. The debt financing will be used to establish carbon sequestration and mitigation projects utilizing agroforestry, biochar, and improved cookstoves (ICS). The agroforestry project would include planting 22.5 million saplings for afforestation to sequester carbon in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Odisha and Maharashtra.
