PROJECT INFORMATION
Auctioned in 2012, Viracopos International Airport (VCP) is Brazil's second-largest cargo airport in terms of volume. In 2019, it handled over 53,400 tons of domestic flights and 200,500 tons of international flights.
It is essential to the dynamics of the country's economy, as an inducer of the development of Campinas and the region, due to the logistical support linked to industrial operations that it offers as part of the competitive strategies of large companies established in Brazil, especially those operating in international trade.
In 2019, Viracopos International Airport transported more than 9.7 million passengers on domestic flights and 966 thousand passengers on international flights.
The planned investment is R$4.25 billion, and operating costs are estimated at R$10.8 billion over the 30-year concession period. With a WACC of 7.84%, the minimum concession fee is estimated at R$4.35 billion.
The project was qualified at the 13th meeting of the PPI Council, through Resolution No. 123, dated 06/10/2020 , which gave rise to Decree No. 10,427, dated 07/17/2020 .
