Scope :
The funds will be used to support the Transformative Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Programme, which is currently in the first phase of execution.
The funds will be provided from the bank and the Africa Growing Together Fund (AGTF), a joint-financing fund created with the People’s Bank of China. The Rwandan government will contribute US$24.7 million towards the programme.
The implementation of the programme is scheduled to last five years, from January 2024 to December 2029. It comprises four components covering investments in water supply and sanitation, managing drainage basins, programme management and support for the sector. The programme will be carried out in three phases, with a total investment cost of US$800 million.
