๐ Tender Overview
Scope :
Salkadamna coal project in the Tahoua region. Salkadamna coal project comprises the development of an open-cast coal mine, a coal-fired thermal power plant, transmission lines and transformer stations, and a coal briquette factory which will be financed from the national budget.
coal-fired power station and transmission lines would be built under the first phase of the project. The power plant would have a capacity of 200MW, comprising four 50MW turbines. The main 330kV transmission line would run for 400km between Salkadamna and Niamey, with an additional line covering 200km between Salkadamna-Tahoua-Malbaza.
The second phase would focus on manufacturing coal mineral briquettes for domestic use, as wood substitute to reduce deforestation.
The total cost of the project was estimated at US$900 million. The Salkadamna coal project has been in the pipeline for more than two decades and has experienced several false starts involving Chinese and US backers.
The Salkadamna (Tahoua) Coal Power Plant is 600MW coal fired power project. It is planned in Tahoua, Niger.
Description
The project is being developed and currently owned by Compagnie Miniere Et Energetique Du Niger (CMEN.SA). The company has a stake of 100%.
It is a Steam Turbine power plant. The power plant can run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant will be coal. In case of shortage of coal the plant will run on Lignite. The fuel will be procured from Salkadamna mine.
Salkadamna (Tahoua) Coal Power Plant (Salkadamna (Tahoua) Coal Power Plant Unit I) consists of 4 steam turbines with 50MW nameplate capacity.
