"The main purpose of the project is to reinforce consistent enforcement of road traffic rules across the European level, also in support of the Cross-Border Exchange Directive implementation by carrying out Europe-wide and cross-border policing operations, information campaigns to increase public awareness of road safety, and by police officers' training aimed at sharing ""best enforcement practice"", to reduce road fatalities and serious injuries. The project shall also contribute to knowledge sharing with the specific region of Western Balkans, in line with the priorities announced in the EU Road Safety Policy Framework.
The project is exclusively focused on the co-operation between EU police authorities and those of the Western Balkans region in charge of enforcement of road traffic rules, as well between the police authorities and other enforcement authorities and organisations such as European Labour Agency (ELA). It covers all EU Member States with particular focus on the Member States where enforcement of road safety related traffic rules requires significant improvement. Moreover, in line with the priorities announced in the EU Road Safety Policy Framework the project also covers knowledge sharing with the specific regions of Western Balkans.
