The project components include: (i) Skills for value chain development, (ii) TVET sub-sector and institutional capacity building, and (iii) Project management.
Project Objectives
The project development objective is to increase access to quality middle-level technical skills training for South Sudan youth to promote their participation in agricultural value chain development and employability.
Beneficiaries
Specifically, the Project will engage with the School of Applied and Industrial Sciences (SAIS) and School of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies. However, the university lacks modern training facilities to improve the quality of training due to low funding. Overall, the facilities will directly benefit about 250 students (30% females) who will enrol in the new programmes and indirectly benefit about 2,000 youth (30% females). The indirect beneficiaries include other students from the School of Applied and Industrial Sciences, students from the School of Natural Resources and Environmental Studies and the School of Community Studies and Rural Development who will also benefit from the training facilities.
