Scope of workConstruction of High-speed link from Stockholm to Gothenburg and Malmo - First Phase.DescriptionThe 160km line will link Jarna near Sodertalje with Linkoping and will involve the construction of more than 200 bridges and 20km of tunnels. Trafikverket anticpiates construction will begin in 2017-2021 and commissioning will take place in 2028. The total cost of the project is estimated to be SKr 35bn at 2013 prices and the 320kmh railway will reduce Stockholm Linkoping journey times from 1h 39min to one hour.June 2015-SWEDISH infrastructure manager Trafikverket has selected a consortium of Systra and Cowi Denmark to provide technical consultancy services for a section of the Ostlnken high-speed line the first phase of a high-speed link from Stockholm to Gothenburg and Malm.The Swedish Transport Administration awarded the contract to Jacobs for lines which will run between Stockholm Gothenburg and Malmo. Under the contract Jacobs will provide technical advice and planning design and delivery services to the project.The new lines will build on links between the three major cities in southern Sweden. The first which is known as the East Link Project will link Jrna with Linkping by laying 150km of rail and is set to open in 2033-35.Jacobs will also design the 60km line between Gothenburg with Bors and the 70km link between Hssleholm and Lund. The lines will offer top speeds of 250km and 320km respectively.The full high speed rail development will link the southern parts of Sweden together and is part of the National Transport System Plan for 2018-2029.
