Project description
The ABICOR project (Trade and Transport Facilitation Measures for the Abidjan-Ouagadougou and Abidjan-Lagos Strategic Corridors) contributes to strengthening economic and trade integration in West Africa. It pursues four specific objectives: (1) transport systems on selected strategic corridors are more efficient, greener and safer, and the physical movement of goods and people is improved; (2) trade and commercial capacities along strategic corridors are strengthened, through the full implementation of trade agreements and economic measures, improved customs procedures and transit facilitation; (3) the sustainability of investments on strategic corridors made by partner countries, the EU and its partners is enhanced, through better corridor management and asset maintenance systems and (4) small-scale cross-border trade is improved in cross-border markets and regions with a focus on women traders.
