📋 Tender Overview
Objectives
Contribute to social inclusion of people with disabilities by training 250 mentors specialised in supporting people with disabilities who are volunteers or who wish to be volunteers. We want to create an open source user friendly platform that can be used for training and matching mentors and mentees in the future with training materials in different languages making it easier to provide quality mentoring for people with disabilities (physical, sensory and organic disabilities).
Activities
State of the Art report and focus groups to sharpen the partners understanding of the training needs. Development of the training materials including a validation component and using non-formal methodologies. Pilot the mentoring methodology that will be at the heart of the training in the specific context before improving the model and course material after feedback and then training 250 mentors across Europe. Efforts will be put into promotion and visibility for this new resource.
Impact
TEAM IV will provide an online training course for developing and strengthening the capacity for people to act as volunteer trained mentors through a European mentoring programme for volunteers with disabilities in order to empower them to be active citizens and realise their full potential. The online training package and platform will use online non-formal learning methodologies to train mentors. It will also have the capacity to match trained mentors with mentees across Europe.
