DESCRIPTION
The project concerns a part of the promoter's multi-annual investment plan for energy efficiency renovation of affordable housing for rent in the city of Schwerin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The project comprises of the comprehensive energy refurbishment of around 30 building complexes with approximately 70,000m² of floor area. The works are intended to improve the technical and energy performance of the residential buildings while maintaining affordability. The project will finance energy retrofit measures on the building envelope, modernise heating, electrical and technical systems as well as general building upgrades including lifts to provide modern and accessible living space. The investments are aligned with the objectives of the Bank's Energy Sector Orientation, the Climate Bank Roadmap Phase 2 2026-2030. 100% of the investments will contribute to the Bank's objectives on Climate Action and Environmental Sustainability.
OBJECTIVES
The EIB will co-finance the multi-annual investment programme of the promoter comprising renovation, energy efficiency improvements and new construction of affordable housing for rent in the city of Schwerin. The project is expected to increase both the supply and quality of affordable rental housing, while enhancing the market's ability to respond to the needs of moderate-income households.
